Harvesting
We have in excess of 500 acres of turf grown on sandy land and harvest 52 weeks a year to ensure all our turf is fresh and in prime condition. Sykes owns a substantial fleet of vehicles which are fully equipped with fork lift trucks and experienced helpful staff to enable turf to be delivered on time, every time throughout our region.
Our full agronomy and nutrition service ensures that your turf arrives in peak condition and we can advise you on how to maintain your turf in your specific growing environment. We can supply seed mixtures of our all turf grades to suit your needs.
Once mature, harvesting takes place on a daily basis right throughout the year. Originally all turf was harvested in the one square yard roll and was installed by hand.
Now almost 40% of our turf is harvested in large rolls and is installed using specialised roll out equipment. This is generally for larger landscaping projects and sports arenas.
